The flight to the Suvarnabhumi Airport was uneventful. We waited quite a while to get clearance & retrieved our luggage. Took a cab down to the hotel. They wanted to charge a flat rate of 500 Baht but we insisted on meter & agreed to pay the toll. It amounted to 370 Baht (25+45+300).
Arrived at Grand Diamond Hotel in around 30 mins. Tried to get a refund by getting a room for 2 instead of 3. The hotel staff old us they need to check with the agent and old us to wait for an hour.
We decided to have some lunch at the Platinum Mall opposite while waiting. The food center uses a card system. Together, we input 200 Baht into the card to share our meals & drinks for the next few days. Anyway, top-ups & refund was simple.
In the end, we got a room for 2, BUT we still have to alias with the agent ourselves to get the refund. We will also be charged for using the hotel's phone to call the agent (Asia Rooms), eventhough the agent's office is in Thailand. URGH!
We decided to put the matter on hold till we get back. Since there's no guarantee that we will get back the hotel refund. Didn't want to incur anymore unnecessary cost.
