Though excited, we were all shagged from the long hours of flight. I was in quite a daze, from the lack of sleep & energy booster (caffeine). Managed to get some directions & took a train down to the Termini station (€11 each), followed by taxi (€20 incl €1 per luggage) to our hotel.
We arrived safely at our accommodation - Hotel Beethoven. It has a cozy lobby. After dumping our luggage into our respective rooms, we went out to get the necessity – WATER.
Our hotel seems to be located in a neighborhood area. Managed to find a supermarket and got 6x1.5 litres which cost €1.50 in total. Not a bad deal. XJ/Jo paid for it.
Found a pizza store and got our 1st dinner in Italy. The pizza is sold by weight. Ordering was fun. We were basically using hand signs to signal the owner to cut smaller pieces for us, pointing at the position where it should be sliced. Mine was less than €3 in total, not a bad start.
The street split into 2 as we walked. We decided to go straight & try to come back from the "Left path". For some reason, we didn’t manage to do so. Perhaps, that "Left path" doesn’t connect to the main road. We simply couldn’t get to it in spite of the directions given from passerbys. Most of them were really trying to be helpful. Unfortunately, we simply couldn’t communicate with them in different languages, as they don’t speak English.
Anyway, we got back using the route we came from. Decided to play with the Mah Jiong Travel Set that HJ brought. The tiles were really tiny, so we were really careful with them. I am totally confused with the dice and directions. Still, I managed to "HU" for a round. We played till midnight before concussing into our beds.
